Albed is an Italian company that since 1964 has designed and made interior architecture systems in aluminium, glass and wood: doors, sliding walls, partitions and accessories designed to blend with the architecture. It is based in Nova Milanese, in Brianza, north of Milan.
A metalworking company
Albed describes itself as a manufacturing company with metalworking DNA. The whole production cycle takes place in-house, in Italy, which allows it to make highly customised products and to work to measure for each project. Rather than a catalogue, it offers designers a modular system of technical solutions to combine, for residential and commercial projects.
Doors, walls and accessories
The range includes hinged, sliding, pocket, pivot and flush-to-wall doors; movable and sliding walls to divide and reconfigure spaces, such as the Prima collection; and accessories such as walk-in wardrobes and bookcases. Its collaborations with architects and designers include Kengo Kuma, author of the Kodama and Komorebi patterns.
Recyclable materials
Aluminium and glass, Albed's main materials, are 100% recyclable. The wood comes from responsibly managed forests and is finished with formaldehyde-free lacquers.
