Galbiati, now Galbiati Milano, is a tableware brand with more than a century of history. It is best known for its glasses, recognisable by their combinations of patterns and colours, but its roots lie in silverware.

Silver and crystal in Milan

Cristallerie e Argenterie Galbiati was founded in Milan in 1908. From the start the company devoted itself to the culture of the table, with high-quality accessories and tableware. It grew quickly: by 1926 it had around a hundred employees, and it came through the 1929 crisis successfully.

A focus on glass

In 1968 Cristallerie Galbiati and Argenterie Galbiati became two separate companies. The glassworks focused its research on glass making and design, while keeping an eye on every accessory for the table. Its pieces are hand-blown by master glassmakers, so each glass is slightly different from the others and small imperfections become a distinctive feature.

Galbiati Milano today

In 2021 the brand began a new phase: it went back to designing the whole table, adding new materials and new forms to glass, from melamine to tablecloths. Since 2025 Galbiati Milano has been part of the Alumac portfolio, but its bond with Milan remains at the heart of its identity.
