Agape is an Italian bathroom furniture company founded in 1973 by the Benedini family. It is based near Mantua, in Bagnolo San Vito.

The Benedini brothers

The company is run by the brothers Giampaolo and Emanuele Benedini. Giampaolo, an architect and designer, is in charge of creative direction; since 1987 Emanuele has handled management and strategy. The Benedini Associati studio designed products such as the Erion modular furniture system of 1975 and the Spoon bathtub of 1998.

The designers

In 1992 Agape began working with outside designers: among the first were Enzo Mari, with the Calvino accessories series, and Pino Pasquali. The company later worked with designers such as Patricia Urquiola and Konstantin Grcic, and in 2008 acquired the production rights to the objects in Angelo Mangiarotti's archive.

For its fiftieth anniversary in 2023, Agape told its story in the exhibition "Actually, we wanted to do something else. A tale of Agape – 1973/2023".
