e15 is a furniture brand founded in 1995 in London by the German architect Philipp Mainzer. The name comes from the postcode of the East London area where its first workshop was located. Today the company is based in the Frankfurt area, in Germany, and is present in more than 40 countries.

The origins

Mainzer, born in Mainz, studied at Central Saint Martins and the Architectural Association in London. The first pieces, such as the Bigfoot table and the Backenzahn stool, defined the brand's language: simple, solid forms that let the material speak.

Solid wood

e15's main material is solid wood: for this furniture the company uses only PEFC-certified European oak and walnut from sustainably managed forests. Mainzer works with designer and art director Farah Ebrahimi.
