Dedar is an Italian textile house making furnishing fabrics, wallpapers and trimmings. Its collections are recognisable for their intense colours, unexpected patterns and the use of precious yarns alongside technical fibres, for curtains, sofas and armchairs and wall coverings.
The Como district
The company was founded in 1976 and is still family-run. It is based near Como, at the heart of one of Italy's most important textile districts, famous above all for silk: here Dedar works closely with craftsmen and textile specialists who know the processes inside out, experimenting with techniques and materials together with them.
Hermès and the collections
From 2011 to 2020 Dedar produced and distributed Hermès's furnishing fabric and wallpaper collections, a recognition of the quality of its work.
Dedar today
Since 2019 the company has pursued a sustainability strategy, with a sustainability report and a code of ethics. In 2024 it bought Mariaflora, a brand of technical outdoor fabrics founded in 2015 in Biella, another historic Italian textile district.
